Beacon Primary Care Nurses

Primary Care Nursing requires fast thinking, the ability to consider multiple conditions in a short space of time, flexibility and the ability to work across a diverse team. Beacon has a diverse team of Primary Care nurses that who work together to better the practice and their own development. The team has an ethos of sharing and we take appraisal and peer review seriously. We are proud of the generalist and specialist skills that have changed the lives of so many patients.

Nardia Buck

Nurse Prescriber

Nardia is a qualified nurse prescriber and registered midwife who undertakes all of our baby checks and post-natal checks.  Nardia has undertaken the clinical examination and diagnostics course.     

Roxanne Gore

Nurse Prescriber

Roxanne is a qualified nurse prescriber who came to Beacon Primary Care from Secondary care and has a special interest in liver.  Roxanne has recently undertaken the advanced diabetes course and has a keen interest to develop in all areas of general practice.

Claire Derbyshire

Practice Nurse

Claire joined Beacon Primary Care in June 2021 she sees, reviews and treats all acute and chronic health conditions. Claire specialises in Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease, Heart Failure, Asthma, COPD, Respiratory Conditions and women’s health.

Rebecca Settle

Rebecca Settle

Advanced Nurse Practitioner
General Nursing, Prescriber, Chronic disease management

Rebecca has a background in district nursing and is undertaking the Masters pathway in order to practice as an advanced nurse practitioner. Rebecca is an independent nurse prescriber and has special interests including chronic kidney disease and liver disease. Rebecca is involved in teaching and training and is herself on course to finish her masters degree.

Lisa Coombes

Anticoagulation, Primary Care Nursing

Lisa is a practice nurse working mainly in our anticoagulant service. Lisa not only runs clinics in surgeries, she plans and carries out home visits and undertakes annual reviews and quality control testing.

Lynne Rice

Practice Nurse

 Lynne is our longest serving PN at BPC having started in 2014.
Lynne was a former Midwife at Ormskirk hospital and has a special interest in Women’s health especially in smear taking and training practice nurses who work at Beacon Primary Care in this important role.

Lesley Grundy

Minor Surgery

Lesley has a background in minor surgery, she teaches at Salford and delivers excellent minor surgery for Beacon.

Beth Foster

Nurse

Beth is our practice nurse who leads on our clinical indicators for chronic disease management to ensure all patients receive an adequate annual health review.  Beth has undertaken courses in respiratory conditions, advanced diabetes and vaccinations and is also a qualified smear taker.  Beth works from Milton House at Edge Hill University on a Monday afternoon providing a sexual health service for Edge Hill Students.

Nurse Manager Advanced Nurse Practitioner

John has extensive experience in community care. John is head of nursing at Beacon Primary Care.
Joe is our newest practice nurse who came to us following his nurse training. Joe has a keen interest in diabetes and is also the lead for the covid vaccination programme. Joe is also training on the chronic disease management recall systems. Joe undertakes the childhood immunisation clinics every week in practice. He has also recently undertaken the COPD and asthma course.

Joe is our newest practice nurse who joined us from his nurse training.
